Long before I drew the first blueprints for Explore Extremes, my life was defined by two completely different worlds: elite sports and structural design.

I grew up in Turkey and my early life revolved around the intense, high-stakes world of professional downhill skiing. Competing at that level forces you to develop a deep, firsthand respect for extreme environments. You quickly learn how mountain weather can shift in minutes, and you learn to rely entirely on the integrity of your equipment. When my professional skiing career came to an end, I chose to channel that same discipline and love for structure into a new field: architecture. 

The idea for Explore Extremes finally brought these two halves of my life together. While traveling the world after my architecture studies, I fell in love with the concept of glamping, the ability to stay in incredibly remote, beautiful places without sacrificing comfort. However, looking at these sites through the eyes of an architect, I noticed a troubling trend. Many of the premium structures I stayed in had fundamentally flawed areas. They simply weren’t engineered to withstand the real-world forces of nature.

I realized I was uniquely positioned to solve this problem. By combining my architectural background with my lifelong understanding of outdoor environments, I could design something better. 

Explore Extremes was founded to bring true, uncompromising engineering to the hospitality world, ensuring that landowners can build breathtaking destinations that are built to last.
